The NI Team have assessed this development can likely achieve biodiversity net gain on site. As per JLP Policies SPT12 and DEV26 development should support the protection, conservation, enhancement and restoration of biodiversity and geodiversity across the Plan Area for both minor and major applications.

For a minor development we require provision of enhancements for wildlife within the built environment (DEV26.5) via the implementation of good quality landscaping (DEV20) and improvement in canopy cover (DEV28). This should be provided in the form of a Defra Small Sites Metric where applicable, demonstrating measurable net gain or enhancements proportionate to the development.

Once received this Biodiversity Net Gain enhancements should be conditioned.
