Whilst the overall number of cycle parking spaces shown (28 in total) is acceptable, I do have some concerns in respect of the general arrangement of the cycle parking spaces proposed which are as follows:- None of the cycle parking spaces shown within each of the 3 zones could be considered as being secure. The provision of cycle parking hoops which are openly accessible to members of the public could not be considered as being secure and as such are not likely to be used by staff or students (who are likely to be within the building for several hours at a time). In order to consider the spaces as being 'secure', each of the blocks of cycle parking hoops should be contained within a lockable structure. Without such I am unable to agree to the cycle parking provision as proposed.
- Whilst the cycle parking provided in Zones 1 and 2 are undercover, this is not the case for the spaces in Zone 3. These should be located undercover and as stated above, within a lockable structure in order to ensure that they are more likely to be used by students and staff for longer-term cycle parking.
