Although the LHA would usually prefer to see the use of block paving for shared use areas, it is noted that this is a car parking area and as such individual spaces will need to be marked-out (which is much easier to achieve on bitmac compared to block paving).

It is also noted that there is separate pedestrian provision around the perimeter of the building providing an identified safe area for pedestrians to walk (without having to walk through the centre of the car parking areas).

On this basis I would no in-principle objections to the use of bitmac (as opposed to blocks) within the car parking area serving the REI.
