PLYMOUTH CITY COUNCIL CONSULTEE COMMENTS FOR A PLANNING APPLICATION.APPLICATION SUMMARY
PLANNING APPLICATION: 23/01785/FUL.
ADDRESS: 96 Staddon Lane, Plymouth PL9 9SP.
DESCRIPTION: Construction and operation of a micro energy storage facility.
CASE OFFICER: Abbey Edwards (Planning Officer)
Development Management, PCC Strategic Planning & Infrastructure, Floor 2 Ballard House PL1 3BJ
CONSULTEE: Gary Lester (Transport Officer)
PCC Strategic Planning & Infrastructure, Transport Planning Team, Floor 2 Ballard House PL1 3BJ
Date: 19th January 2024
COMMENTS:
The Local Highway Authority (LHA) would wish to raise any objections to the proposal for the construction and operation of a micro energy storage facility.
The Energy Storage System, or 'Battery Box' of approximately 24sqm in size, would be located on a grass verge along the edge of the car park associated with Staddon Heights Golf Club.
It is understood from the application details that once in operation, the Battery Box storage system would take and import electricity from the local electricity network when demand for electricity is low, or when there are high levels of renewable energy available. The electricity would then be stored, until needed to be exported back to the electricity grid as required in periods of high demand.
SUMMARY:
The proposed operation of a micro energy storage facility would be self-contained within the application site, having no impacts on the local road network in its use. Therefore, the Local Highway Authority would not wish to raise any objections to the construction and operation of the proposed micro energy storage facility.
