Highway Authority

Comment Date: Mon 22 Jul 2024

The proposals seek to construct a two-storey rear extension and front porch at both the above-mentioned properties and a side garage at number 21 only. The Local Highway Authority (LHA) would not wish to raise any in-principle objections to the proposed development.

In terms of the off-street parking provision, number 21 is currently served with 1x off-street parking space and this level of parking will be retained following the proposed development. Furthermore, there will be sufficient space within the hardstand to allow a car to be parked whilst the garage door is operated. As there is no increase to the number of bedrooms and the existing levels of off-street parking are maintained, there are no in-principle objections to the proposed development at number 21.

The proposed works at number 23 would result in an increase to the number of bedrooms from 3 to 4, which would also increase the level of parking demand by 1x space. However, as 2x off-street parking spaces are retained as part of the development, even with the slight reduction in size of the hardstand following the construction of the porch, the LHA would also offer no in-principle objections in this instance.

In conclusion, the LHA would not wish to raise any in-principle objections to the proposed development. There are no proposed changes to the existing access arrangements and sufficient levels of off-street parking provision are maintained.
