Thank you very much for consulting Historic Environment regarding the above development. The proposal relates to the grade I listed Perimeter Building, Factory Cooperage Royal William Yard (NHL ¿ 1378536) within the Stonehouse Peninsula Conservation Area (adopted 1968).

We have reviewed the application information and have no objections to the amended proposals for enlargement of the mezzanine in Unit 8. The amendment is considered minor with confirmation in the Design and Access Statement that the works are reversible. As such it falls within the definition of ¿less than substantial harm¿. We consider there to be clear benefit to enabling the domestic conversion of the Perimeter building to secure the long term sustainable future use of this grade I listed building. The development is considered compliant with guidance within DEV21 of The Plymouth and Southwest Devon Joint Local Plan, NPPF guidance (Dec 2023) and The Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990.
