Dear Marie
Highway Authority Consultation Response to a Planning Application
APPLICATION NO: 24/01360/CDM
SITE: DERRIFORD HOSPITAL, DERRIFORD ROAD, PLYMOUTH
DEVELOPMENT: Condition Discharge: Condition 6 (Further Details
Drop Off / Taxi Rank) of application 23/01321/S73
Observations:
There are a several comments I would like to raise issues arising from the details which have been submitted to discharge condition 6 of application 23/01321/S73 which are as follows:
' One of the submitted drawings refers to a banksperson being needed for the duration of the works due to limited visibility. What movement does this relate to?
' The submitted drawings only show part of the line of hoarding that will be required. For context and to see what is happening at the junction of where the hospital loop road meets the access route which runs along the frontage of the hospital, it would be helpful if all of the hoarding details could be included on the drawings.
' It would appear from the drawings that all public drop-off will be removed from the front of the hospital as a result of these changes. What alternative arrangements will be put in place to address this requirement? Does mobility drop-off include for the general public? If so, would the bus lane markings need to be amended to allow for taxis and general traffic as well?
' It is noted that the changes will result in the loss of 2 existing disabled spaces. Will these be provided elsewhere within the hospital campus?
' It is noted that the eastern access off Derriford Road will now be signed as a Staff Entrance? However, how does this relate to the fact that a large amount of staff car parking is still retained on the NWQ?
The LHA requires further information/responses in relation to the points made above before they are in a position to recommend the discharge of Condition 6.
