Dear Daniel
Highway Authority Consultation Response to a Planning Application
APPLICATION NO: 25/00257/16
SITE: GEORGE JUNCTION PARK AND RIDE JUNCTION, TAVISTOCK ROAD, PLYMOUTH
DEVELOPMENT: The installation of 20m Phase 7 monopole with wraparound cabinet supporting 9no. antennas, 2no. 300mm diameter transmission dishes and ancillary development thereto
Observations:
Whilst there are no in-principle objections to this application from a LHA viewpoint, the mast and associated cabinets are proposed within a relatively busy area of the park and ride site in terms of pedestrian and cycle movements. It is noted that when the doors to the cabinets are opened for the purposes of maintenance, there would only be 3.5m clearance between the cabinet door and the existing benches located directly opposite.
Therefore, I would recommend that the mast and cabinets are moved by a minimum of 1m in an easterly direction towards the existing bus lane. This will also require the 10 proposed concrete bollards to be moved a similar distance. This alteration will then ensure that there is ample clearance and that no unnecessary pinch-point is created.
Recommendation:
The Highway Authority has no objections to this application subject to the above-mentioned alterations being addressed.
