Highway Authority Consultation Response to a Planning Application


APPLICATION NO: 25/00452/ADV

SITE: 19 POMPHLETT ROAD, PLYMOUTH

DEVELOPMENT: Installation of internally illuminated totem sign


Observations:

From viewing the Proposed Signage Plan it would appear that the sign could impact upon inter-visibility at the mini-roundabout which serves the Morrisons store. Visibility is likely to be restricted (by the sign) for those drivers emerging from the arm onto the roundabout which serves the existing PFS (as well as the remainder of the store).

On this basis it is recommended that the sign is moved further back into the verge so that it is not impacting upon visibility at this location. Should the applicant be unwilling to agree to such then I would have to recommend this application for refusal on highway safety grounds.

Recommendation:

The Highway Authority is likely to recommend refusal in the absence of further information (updated plan).
