Highway Authority

The proposals seek to construct a single storey, front extension which would lead to the loss of the existing garage at the property. The Local Highway Authority (LHA) would not wish to raise any in-principle objections to the proposed development.

Whilst the removal of the garage could be considered a loss in off-street parking provision, which would be unacceptable to the LHA, it is considerably undersized at approximately 3.3m in length and 2.7m in width. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that the garage would have been able to positively contribute to the off-street parking provision at the property.

In addition, there would continue to be enough space within the hardstand (including the raised area to one side) at the front of the property for a minimum of 2x cars to park off-street.

For these reasons, the LHA would not wish to raise any in-principle objections to the proposed development.
